Humanitarian Icon
Candice Mama is a renowned humanitarian and advocate for forgiveness, reconciliation and trauma healing. She is considered one of the world's most inspiring women, having been named as one of Vogue Magazine's top 33 women in the world alongside the likes of Nicole Kidman, Michelle Obama and Malala. In 2020, she was selected as one of the #UN75 People in celebration of the United Nations' 75th anniversary, and her story was the focus of the acclaimed documentary "It's a Pleasure to Meet You" which was showcased at the Louis Vuitton Foundation.
Candice's work in the field began after her story of forgiving apartheid assassin and her father's murderer, Eugene De Kock, made international news. She has since become a multi-award winning speaker, international podcaster, Tedx speaker and mentor for several international organizations. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Human Beacon of Dignity Award presented by Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Evelin Lindner. Candice is also a 3-time published author, with contributions to "SHE" by the UN, "Peace-Building" for the British Council, and her own book "Forgiveness Redefined". As a founding member and executive board member of several international organizations, she was also chosen to lead the UN-backed initiative Women Power in South Africa, making her the youngest member to hold the position. All of these achievements have been accomplished by Candice before the age of thirty.
